Reporting to the Director of Community Wellness Centers, the Community Engagement Ambassador serves as a strategic leader and trusted representative of IEHP within the Inland Empire. This role is responsible for building, developing, and managing high-impact community partnerships, designing and executing innovative engagement strategies, and strengthening IEHP’s presence across diverse communities to support member retention, benefit awareness, and organizational priorities.
The Ambassador operates with a high degree of independence by initiating new ideas, creating localized engagement plans, and leveraging quality, member, and community insights to identify emerging needs, new Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and key partners. This position collaborates closely with city officials, community leaders, providers, and cross-functional IEHP teams to co-develop events, training sessions, and initiatives that advance IEHP’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Live Well IE objectives.
The Ambassador is also responsible for maintaining subject matter expertise in IEHP Marketing and Outreach policies, Medi Cal and Medicare benefits, and all applicable federal, state, regulatory, contractual, and accreditation requirements governing community engagement activities. The incumbent ensures all public-facing communication, sponsorships, materials, and partnerships remain compliant, accurate, culturally responsive, and audit-ready, and serves as a knowledgeable point of contact during audit processes involving community engagement activities.
In partnership with Community Wellness Centers and internal departments, the Ambassador collects and applies community and member data to inform strategy, improve service connection, and strengthen overall member experience. The role requires exceptional relationship-building, strategic thinking, program execution, and the ability to exercise dotted-line leadership and guidance across both internal and external stakeholders.
