Under the direction of Department leadership, this position will be responsible for report design and maintenance of ad-hoc and routine reports, and new report development The Report Developer II will also be responsible for providing technical and analytical guidance for applicable department Team Members of all levels and department projects. The Report Developer II requires an understanding of advanced and complex systems, concepts, complex report writing, and table design and structure to support IEHP business rules. This individual must have the ability to analyze and interpret applicable system methodologies through reporting capabilities. This individual will work with Department Team Members to define requests, requirements, design, and the development of quality reports that meet the business needs for applicable unit. The position is responsible for development projects in collaboration with other business units throughout the organization. Must also be able to navigate applicable IEHP systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analyze, develop, monitor, and update reporting specifications, as required to ensure compliance with changes in State, Federal, contractual and/or IEHP program requirements.
  2. Develop and oversee auditing reports for business unit configuration.
  3. Track and trend department applicable data and identify opportunities to maximize automated processes.
  4. Provide management with reporting and an analysis of trends.
  5. Develop and support break-fixes and change requests for ad-hoc and standard periodic reports using Microsoft SQL Server and other reporting tools.
  6. Prepare regulatory and compliance audits and requests by reviewing and providing data, and completing related research, analysis, and validation of the data.
  7. Utilize intermediate/advanced SQL programming skillset and/or other reporting tools to contribute to the development and documentation of reporting through:
    • Coordinating and conducting unit sessions for collecting and documenting reporting requirements from customer work sessions.
    • Identification of custom or ad hoc reports to include detailed technical requirements.
    • Translating business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports.
    • Design, development, and testing of custom reports to meet business requirements.
    • Modification of baseline reports.
    • Defining, documenting, and executing unit test cases to confirm requirements are met.
    • Support system and user acceptance testing activities, including issue resolution.
  1. Use LEAN methodology to develop and implement system improvements idea to facilitate continuous improvement of current processes.
  2. Follow applicable unit standards and protocols for completing break-fixes, troubleshooting, and SQL query optimization for existing reports and development of new requests. Aid in identification and enforcement of new standards.
  3. Create or enhance existing department guideline documents as it pertains to personal tasks.
  4. Exercise efficient data mining techniques and develop new, or modify existing, methodologies to perform comprehensive data analysis.
  5. Perform batch adjustments of department data and analyze data results.
  6. Develop and perform core system release testing cases.
  7. Remain proficient with best practices and common processes for developing solutions with various reporting tools utilized in role.
  8. Promote teamwork and maintain effective working relationships with others throughout the organization.

Qualifications

Education & Requirements 

  • Five (5) years of experience in a managed care or health plan setting in a reporting or analytic capacity in any relevant field
  • Five (5) years of technical experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) system design, development, and production support of large applications/systems – including database management techniques
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or other technically relevant degree from an accredited institution required

 

Key Qualifications

  • Knowledge of data analysis, data presentation, spread sheet and database capabilities
  • Strong knowledge of department applicable methodologies, including stored procedures
  • A strong understanding of data flow in healthcare domain, interoperability, and data integration is required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Various data tools separate from Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services preferred (e.g. PowerBI, ThoughtSpot, GitHub, Kibana Elasticsearch, Crystal Reports, Business objects, and Google Analytics)
  • Must have strong analytical skills and can demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Select queries with inner/outer joins, Pivots, and advanced text and numeric functions
  • Work independently or with little direction
  • Has strong initiative to meets established deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in order to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and management
  • Work cooperatively and effectively on group projects
  • Ability to multi-task. Adhere to IEHP's policies and procedures
  • Position is eligible for telecommuting/remote work location upon completing the necessary steps and receiving HR approval
  • All IEHP positions approved for telecommute or hybrid work locations may periodically be required to report to IEHP’s main campus for mandatory in-person meetings or for other business needs as determined by IEHP leadership

Work Model Location

This position is on a hybrid work schedule. (Monday & Friday - remote, Tuesday - Thursday onsite in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.)

Pay Range

USD $91,249.60 - USD $120,910.40 /Yr.
